Wave OCE 2026 Roadmap

Wave OCE announces 2026 Roadmap for Oceania

Wave OCE is excited to announce our VALORANT roadmap for Oceania in 2026!

With the conclusion of our inaugural event “Proteus” towards the end of 2025, the team at Wave OCE shifted our focus towards the future of VALORANT within Oceania moving into 2026. Our goal this year is to build a stronger connection to the community and provide a platform that brings more events to the table.

Our ambitions are high and being able to deliver high quality events consistently will be at the core of what we do this year. We hope that each event will foster a prolific & memorable tournament experience that the community can easily access, as we further our commitment to grassroot initiatives.

Wave OCE Rising Tides - Seasonal Splits

Wave OCE Rising Tides is our seasonal event, featuring two splits across the month of April & May.

Split 1 will feature 32 teams (max) in an Open Qualifier, running Single Elimination Bo3 format. 16 team Group Stage (16 up from Open), running 4 groups in a Swiss format. 8 team Playoffs (8 up from Groups), running Double Elimination and seeded from Group Stage

Split 2 will feature a similar format, with a maximum of 32 teams with a 16 team Group Stage (8 up from Open Qualifiers, 8 from Playoffs in Split 1). 8 team Playoffs (8 up from Groups), Double Elimination and seeded purely from Split 2 Group Stage. This event aims to fill the gap between casual and competitive play, giving the opportunity for teams to test their skills in preparation for Premier & other events in the calendar.

Wave OCE: Breakwater Open - Community Spotlight

Wave OCE: Breakwater Open aims to provide a balance between amateur and professional play, by providing teams with the opportunity to partake in an open-community format. This event will feature a maximum of 64 teams in a TBA format.

This will be a unique opportunity for teams to compete from all skill levels and is ideal for players who want to experience a community tournament. With Breakwater Open, we’re aiming to provide a platform for the community and hope this presents a competitive but low-risk entrypoint into the esports scene.

Wave OCE Creator & Charity Event - Fun in the Sun

Wave OCE’s Creator & Charity Event looks to bring a more relaxed and chill event for creators, staff, volunteers and the OCE Valorant community. We hope to support a good cause, as well as bring community members into the spotlight, to have some fun in a more casual setting.

Wave OCE Proteus 2026: Phase II - Flagship Standalone

Wave OCE Proteus returns in 2026 as our flagship event, providing a unique opportunity for teams old and new to showcase their talent on the big stage. Featuring a refined format for 2026, Phase II will explore a more profound journey for teams as they look to end the year with a bang.

Proteus Phase II will follow some of OCE’s top 16 teams in another GSL format. Registrations & Entry requirements are still in the works, but expect this event to feature some new and familiar faces.

We'll be reviewing feedback from Proteus 2025 and our events during the year, to ensure Phase II is delivered in a way that highlights the grassroot scene in OCE and sets a strong precedent leading into 2027.

LAN events are a thing, right?

A big challenge for us in 2026, is finding the right time and place to host events at an in-person venue. This is something that we are striving towards this year and are working with industry partners to make this a reality. Whether these be activations or watch-parties, it is something we’re working hard to bring to the community.

Competitive & Professional Integrity

Riot Games has renewed its Esports Global Code of Conduct for 2026 and accordingly, Wave OCE has adapted our policies to align with other TO’s & tournaments. Respect is at the forefront of what we do here and while we aim to provide a community first approach, we will continue to ensure that both our staff, volunteers and players can evolve in a safe environment. We take our commitments very seriously, but we will always strive to ensure that our platform is reliable and enjoyable.

Volunteer & Talent Expressions of Interest

As a core focus of our roadmap this year, we will be aiming to provide opportunities for those interested in entering the esports scene. Whether you’re interested in casting, observing or just helping out in some capacity, Wave OCE will be looking to offer volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We’ll be announcing expressions of interest soon, so make sure to join our Discord server for the latest updates.

Final Words

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has helped make this a reality and for the community for supporting us as we continue to build upon our foundations.

Through our work during OCE’s Valorant Challengers League in 2025 and in our Wave OCE Proteus event, we are eager to continue this positive momentum and provide what we believe is a secure platform for Valorant in Oceania. We still have a lot to prove and we hope that you all will enjoy these events as much as we will.
